Responding to deadly tornadoes
MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Alabama-West Florida Bishop David Graves has expressed "deepest sympathy" for families who lost a loved one after the March 3 tornadoes that swept through Alabama, killing at least 23 residents. Several United Methodist pastors "were present at East Alabama Medical Center to provide comfort, prayer and pastoral support," Graves said in a statement. Watoola United Methodist Church, near Opelika, Alabama, received extensive damage from the storms.

Malaria team increases awareness in Angola
QUESSUA, Angola — Through the Imagine No Malaria program, a team at Quessua Mission Hospital trained 37 young volunteers to visit households in eight surrounding communities, providing door-to-door malaria education and mosquito nets. Since then, the hospital has seen a significant increase in patients seeking treatment — more than 15,000 between September and November of 2018, for example. Tatenda Mujeni has the story.
