Top court raises questions at lively oral hearing
EVANSTON, Ill. (UM News) — A long-simmering investigation into improper voting during General Conference 2019 boiled over Oct. 30 as questions about lines of authority and a lack of information arose from several members of the United Methodist Judicial Council during a public oral hearing. Illinois Great Rivers Conference
'Spoofing' scam uncovered in Illinois

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — The Illinois Great Rivers Conference fell victim to a "spoofing" scam, where a criminal tricks a company into paying a legitimate bill to the wrong party. The fake invoice the conference paid was for $98,500, but insurance will cover all but $5,000 of the stolen money. Paul Black has the story.
