United Methodists hooked on fish fries too

Borrowing from Catholic tradition, United Methodists in Pennsylvania, Michigan, New York and New Mexico are preparing and serving hundreds of fish dinners on Friday nights throughout Lent.

Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine, denomination members have been busy and creative raising funds for humanitarian aid, with the United Methodist Committee on Relief reporting targeted donations of more than $5 million.

Preserving Black church history

The African American Methodist Heritage Center needs money and attention so it can preserve the history of African American Methodists, its leaders say. Fundraising will be the priority in 2022.
