Liberians in U.S. anxious about forced departure

WASHINGTON (UMNS) — After fleeing war and disease, Liberians now living in the U.S. fear job loss and deportation as a 20-year-old humanitarian program ends. Liberian United Methodists are among those affected by the termination of the Deferred Enforced Departure for Liberia. Publishing House 
Hymnal revision committee holds first meeting

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Hymnal Revision Committee of The United Methodist Church held its inaugural meeting March 19-21 at The United Methodist Publishing House. In addition to hymn texts and tunes, the team will identify and recommend a wide selection of liturgical resources to connect and serve diverse United Methodists in worship. The committee will make its recommendations to the 2020 General Conference.
