Liberians in U.S. anxious about forced departure
WASHINGTON (UMNS) — After fleeing war and disease, Liberians now living in the U.S. fear job loss and deportation as a 20-year-old humanitarian program ends. Liberian United Methodists are among those affected by the termination of the Deferred Enforced Departure for Liberia. Hymnal revision committee holds first meeting
NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Hymnal Revision Committee of The United Methodist Church held its inaugural meeting March 19-21 at The United Methodist Publishing House. In addition to hymn texts and tunes, the team will identify and recommend a wide selection of liturgical resources to connect and serve diverse United Methodists in worship. The committee will make its recommendations to the 2020 General Conference.
