Greater New Jersey Conference
Rally supports separated immigrant families
ELIZABETH, N.J. — The Greater New Jersey Conference Board of Church and Society and Hispanic/Latino Committee will host a “We Care” prayer rally at the U.S. Immigration Detention Center on July 28 in support of immigrant children separated from their parents. Harriett J. Olson, top executive of United Methodist Women, and the Rev. Javier Viera, Drew Theological School dean, will be among the speakers.

October Judicial Council docket
NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The docket for the October meeting of the United Methodist Judicial Council has 14 items, including the request from the Council of Bishops that the top court rule on whether the proposed legislation for the One Church, Connectional Conference and Traditional plans passes the constitutional test. The Judicial Council meets Oct. 23-26 in Zurich.
