Hillary Clinton to greet 1996 General Conference

First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton,

a United Methodist, will bring greetings to the church's General Conference at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver Wednesday, April 24 at 2 p.m.

For admittance into the plenary session you will need to be registered in the News Room (Ballroom I) and have a press badge. Seating for the press is stage left in Hall A.

There will be no press conference with Mrs. Clinton.

The General Conference opened Tuesday, April 16 and will adjourn late Friday, April 27. The top legislative body meets every four years. The Denver assembly includes 998 delegates -- half laity, half

clergy -- from the United States, Europe, Africa and the Philippines.

The United Methodist Church, second largest Protestant denomination in the United States, has 8.6 million members in the United States and more than a million in Europe,

Africa and the Philippines.
