German church won't impose Traditional Plan bans

FULDA, Germany (UMNS) — Stipulations in the Traditional Plan approved by General Conference 2019 are unacceptable, said the executive committee of The United Methodist Church in Germany. The committee said the church in Germany will not impose the stricter penalties on the church’s provisions on homosexuality. Klaus Ulrich Ruof reports.

Yearlong discipline study has major impact

ROSWELL, Ga. — When Sam Bradford, a member of Christ United Methodist Church, spent 12 months following the book, “Celebration of Discipline,” he didn’t realize it was the same book North Georgia Conference clergy use during the ordination process. After a year of embracing simplicity, fasting and even taking a retreat to a monastery, Bradford said he’s learned to identify more areas in daily life where he can make himself more open to God.
