Bishops share thoughts on racial violence

Pray, pack and give
NEW YORK (UMNS) — Steven Matthews, a United Methodist from Oregon, gathers relief-supply kits from churches in his region and trucks them to the United Methodist Committee on Relief’s depot in Salt Lake City. After thousands of kits and thousands of miles, he shows up at UMCOR West to see volunteers who are happily helping. Susan Kim has the story for UMCOR.

United Methodist Women help youth stay strong in faith
SUMTER, S.C. (UMNS) — Samoria Jacquel Session, 18, knows how important it is to stay strong in the Lord and stay connected to her church. The rising college freshman credits Limitless, a United Methodist Women’s initiative for young women, with strengthening her Christian walk. Jessica Brodie of the South Carolina Conference reports on how Limitless works.

Called to Teach: A “Practical Resources for Churches” online course — This three-week course will look at teaching children from preschool through 6th grade as a calling and ministry. Participants will be able to access this course at their own convenience. A minimum of four to five hours per week is necessary to benefit from the course content. $45.
