'Therefore Vote' campaign aims to mobilize Latinos

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (UMNS) — Following calls by The United Methodist Church’s Hispanic/Latino caucus for the Latino community to get involved in the political process, a series of videos and discussion questions was developed to help local churches facilitate conversations about faith and civic duty. Côte d'Ivoire laity present clergy with bikes

ABIDJAN, Côte d’Ivoire (UMNS) — A gift of 25 bicycles to the clergy here means they can now evangelize in areas with few or no passable roads. The bicycles were the first of 75 to be distributed to pastors and lay leaders to boost evangelism nationwide. Joe Tueche Ndzulo reports for the West Africa Central Conference.

Church recycles Halloween costumes

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (UMC.org) — Halloween is a fun time for kids but the expense of buying costumes can be too much for some families. A Tennessee mom, with the help of her congregation at Hendersonville First United Methodist Church, started the Nashville Costumes for Kiddos Project.

Workshop "Building a System for Church Multiplication" — Sonrise United Methodist Church, 10125 Illinois Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana, will host training for church leaders launching new campuses, developing a multisite strategy or considering adopting another congregation as a ministry outpost. The Rev. Alex Fernandez of Cornerstone United Methodist Church in Caledonia, Michigan, will lead. $10. Details
