Efforts for regionalization move forward
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (UM News) — Two United Methodist leadership bodies affirmed the direction of legislation to put each geographic region of The United Methodist Church on more even footing. United Methodist leaders also have gotten an update on discussions around the number of bishops on the African continent. Heather Hahn reports.

Funeral set for Bishop Devadhar
CINCINNATI, Ohio — The funeral of Bishop Sudarshana Devadhar, who died July 18 at age 72, is scheduled for 11 a.m. U.S. Eastern time July 27 at Hyde Park Community United Methodist Church, 1345 Grace Ave. in Cincinnati. A viewing will immediately precede the service at 9 a.m. at the church. Plans are in the works to livestream the service.

Life as a missionary family
ATLANTA — David and Elizabeth McCormick have a lot to say about serving as missionaries while raising a family. The couple has served in Mozambique and is currently in the South Central Jurisdiction. They have two children, ages 9 and 11. They say they rely on their faith and find strength in their family.

Church donates building to young congregation
MINNEAPOLIS — Walker Community United Methodist Church is a century-old congregation with a building worth more than $3 million. The church has now donated that building to New City Church, a growing United Methodist congregation. The Walker Community congregation will still use the building.
