Procession of hopefulness: Church and school partnerships
OMAHA, Neb. (UMNS) — Every afternoon at 3:15, the Rev. Chad Anglemyer watches what he calls “a procession of hopefulness.” He sees 50 or more students making their way across a busy street from nearby Burke High School straight to the doors of St. Luke's Teen Center. South Carolina church buys second transitional house
SIMPSONVILLE, S.C. (UMNS) — Another homeless family will soon be able to move into transitional housing through the generosity of a United Methodist congregation. Thanks to a $265,000 Christmas Miracle Mission, Advent United Methodist Church closed July 24 on a second home designed to provide a place for homeless families as they move between emergency shelters and a permanent home. The home was bought with Homes of Hope and in partnership with the Greenville Area Interfaith Hospitality Network. Jessica Brodie reports for the Advocate.
