Bishop Trimble calls for “Dignity, not detention”

Bishop Julius Calvin Trimble, a member of the Task Force on Immigration and Resident Bishop of Iowa, addressed a midday rally on Saturday. The protest declared “Profit from Pain is Inhumane.” He said, “We are here declaring dignity, not detention.” We are here, he added, to “decry the ungodly obsession with incarceration and point to the oral sinking sands that it represents.”
