Schaefer suspended 30 days for performing same-sex wedding
SPRING CITY, Pa. (UMNS) - The Rev. Frank Schaefer has been given a 30-day suspension by the jury in his church trial and told that if he cannot uphold the Book of Discipline in its entirety, he must surrender his credentials.

Disruption prompts church leaders to address sexuality issues
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (UMNS) - The Connectional Table changed its agenda Nov. 19 to make time for a conversation about inclusiveness among members and guests at the fall meeting. The move followed a disruption by Love Prevails, a group advocating inclusion of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and queer people in the life of The United Methodist Church.

NEW YORK (UMNS) -The United Methodist Committee on Relief is working with affected conferences to assist with immediate relief needs after tornadoes left widespread damage Nov. 17.

United Methodists join forces in Indiana storms
LEBANON, Ind. (UMNS) - Volunteers from Centenary United Methodist Church in Lebanon helped other area residents who were in the paths of tornadic storms Nov. 17 to clean up debris. The Rev. Dan Gangler, Indiana Conference communicator, says news sources in Kokomo reported 60 homes and more than 20 businesses destroyed or heavily damaged. To help in Kokomo relief efforts, the Indiana Conference Disaster Response Team gave United Methodist-related Kokomo Urban Outreach $4,000 for food and another $700 for flashlights. Many residents are without electricity and have been told they won't have any until the weekend. Kokomo Urban Ministries will help provide food at noon and 5 p.m. and emergency light.
