Sewing machine collection surpasses goal

An effort to collect 50 sewing machines to help disadvantaged people make a living has exceeded its goal. The Rev. Randy Koppen of Bethlehem United Methodist challenged the church’s quilting group to take on the project.

Bike ministry on a roll

Sarah Jane Johnson Memorial United Methodist Church’s bike ministry began 16 years ago as a summer outreach to help youth learn to repair their bikes. But those events showed church leaders how many children didn’t have bikes and how many adults would benefit from them as well.

Despite challenges, ministry cares for community

For many years, the Miss Stone Center in North Macedonia has been a beacon of charity and hope. Despite rising food costs and staffing shortages, the ministry finds ways to meet increasing need.
