International call to prayer marks anniversary of Ukraine invasion

Friday, Feb. 24, marks the one-year anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. An international prayer event will be held on that day via Zoom at 10 a.m. U.S. Eastern Time with the participation of people from Ukraine as well as those from other countries.

Campus shooting shatters Michigan United Methodists

“Ash Wednesday has come early,” said Michigan Conference Bishop David Bard at a prayer vigil less than 24 hours after a mass shooting at Michigan State University shook the state.

Church leaders mourn Tyre Nichols, seek change

In the days since video was released showing police officers savagely beating Tyre Nichols, United Methodists have joined in grief and prayers for Nichols and his family. They also called for the recognition of Black people’s humanity.
